Accidental Transcendental Season Two

THRESHOLD

Orientation / Setting the Lens

S2E01 — No Final Map: A Different Way to Move Through the Mystery

A threshold episode for Season Two. Rather than offering final answers, this introduces a different posture: paying attention to what helps, recognising capacity, noticing the field, holding identity lightly, and learning to move through mystery with more coherence, humility, and curiosity.

It establishes the core orientation for the season: not certainty, but richer participation.

PART ONE

Compression & Unfolding

The personal lens: how experience becomes more spacious

S2E02 — Jack of All Trades: The Low Resolution God

A playful but serious exploration of perceptual compression through Umwelt, Donald Hoffman's interface ideas, neurodivergence, video games, and human versatility. What if we are not experiencing reality directly, but a playable, body-shaped rendering of something far richer?

This episode establishes the human being as a flexible interface: limited, compressed, but astonishingly adaptable.

S2E03 — Not Going Back in My Box: Making Room For All of You

A personal origin-story episode about masking, self-compression, neurodivergent recognition, inner integration, and welcoming home the many versions of oneself.

This begins to seed The Shape of Safety: what conditions allow a person to unfold without being forced into a smaller shape? It asks what happens when survival strategies are honoured, but no longer allowed to define the whole room.

S2E04 — Surfing the Waves: Expansion, Contraction and Integration

A practical exploration of the rhythms of human experience: opening, overwhelm, novelty, burnout, recovery, pacing, and integration.

Not everything we can see can be held at once, and learning to honour capacity may be one of the central skills of a conscious life. Contraction is reframed not as failure, but as part of the wave-pattern through which growth becomes inhabitable.

S2E05 — Comfort or Adventure? Filling in the Spectrum of Desire

A reflection on the tension between safety and novelty, familiarity and risk, compressed reward and richer participation.

From fast-food dopamine to wholemeal experience, this episode asks what we are really choosing when we choose comfort, adventure, convenience, or aliveness. It does not reject comfort; it asks whether comfort is restoring our capacity for life, or quietly replacing it.

S2E06 — Thinky Time: Boredom, Flow, and the Nursery of Creation

A journey through altered time perception, ADHD, boredom, procrastination, flow, creativity, and the fertile value of doing nothing.

What if the spaces we treat as wasted are sometimes where newness quietly prepares itself? This episode protects the slower temporal habitats where attention, ideas, craft, and meaning are allowed to ripen.

S2E07 — To Have or To Hold: Leaving Legacy or Footprints?

A funny confession about crystals, coins, curios, and fossilised lightning becomes a gentle meditation on continuity, ownership, legacy, and how to hold a temporary life without trying to possess it.

This episode distinguishes having from holding, collecting from participating, and anxious legacy from humble footprints. It closes Part One by asking whether the point was ever to become permanent — or simply to become present while we are here.

PART TWO

Tools, Questions, Signs & Stories

How we navigate meaning without giving ourselves away

S2E08 — Does Compute: An Ethical Exploration of AI Creative Partnership

A nuanced exploration of AI as mirror, collaborator, amplifier, external capacity, and relational technology.

Neither worship nor dismissal: what happens when humans begin co-thinking with increasingly responsive systems, and how do we use that without giving ourselves away? This episode makes the working arrangement explicit enough to be honest, while exploring both the danger of outsourcing our humanity and the possibility of using tools to free more attention for what only humans can live.

S2E09 — Trust No One Voice: Feeling For What Rings True

A practical discernment episode drawing from intuition, authority, institutions, AI, gurus, ideology, inner voices, and nervous-system signals.

How do we remain open without becoming gullible, and grounded without becoming closed? Following directly after Does Compute, this episode restores balance: no single voice, however useful, should be handed the throne.

S2E10 — To Know or Not To Know: Why Questions Outweigh Answers

A defence of uncertainty, curiosity, and open inquiry as strengths rather than failures.

This episode folds agnosticism into a broader question: what if the quality of our questions matters more than the certainty of our answers? It explores not-knowing as an active, humble, and deeply participatory posture rather than a lack to be corrected.

S2E11 — Decoding the Signs: When Symbology Becomes Reflection

A grounded exploration of synchronicity, numbers, dreams, symbolic resonance, intuition, and meaning-making.

Not as proof of cosmic instruction, but as a way of asking how attention and experience reflect one another. Signs become less like commands from outside and more like invitations into relationship with what is already moving within and around us.

S2E12 — Strange Signals: Why Mystery Speaks Your Language

A wider, more speculative tour through anomalous and unusual experience: UFOs, religious visions, mediumship, faery folklore, inner gnosis, energy sensitivity, and culturally shaped encounters with the strange.

Not “this is what they are,” but: What might reality need to look like for mystery to arrive through the lens available to the experiencer?

The door remains open without collapsing mystery into any single explanation.
